A Culinary Walk: Secrets Behind the Storefronts includes ample sips and samples.
A Delicious Drive: Colorful Area Farms and Creative Artisan Producers includes all tastings and a “farm to fork” lunch at the Salt of the Earth restaurant.
A Culinary Walk is approximately 3 hours, and participants can expect to be standing or walking for a majority of the time. We walk at a moderate pace and also provide at least two shaded resting locations.
A Delicious Drive is approximately 6 hours and participants will be escorted in a van to each location; there is some standing and walking. Lunch is provided at Salt of the Earth restaurant.
A majority of Hungry Village Tours attendees live right here and participate in order to learn the best specialty culinary shop locations, local food markets, farms and artisan producers.
Gratuities are greatly appreciated, but are not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%.
If you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction or allergy(e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, etc.) please let us know when you purchase your tickets. We can accomodate to your needs if we know in advance.
In order to stay on schedule, we ask that you wait to shop until the tour has ended. Continuing with the informative tour and tastings in a timely manner is important. Please allow yourself time at the end of the tour to return to your favorite locations and/or shops.
We highly recommend taking our culinary tours at the beginning of your visit to Saugatuck/Douglas so you allow plenty of time to revisit the wonderful shops, markets, farms and producers during your stay. Since tours usually sell out well in advance, there is not a better day of the week versus another.
While we offer youth tickets (under 18 years old), the Culinary Walk is 3 hours and the Delicious Drive is 6 hours; some children have a limited attention span and therefore the tour may not be appropriate for some of them. Parents, who know their children best, should assess the situation individually. Because there is a lot of standing and walking, please consider this when deciding whether the tours may be appropriate for your child.
The Culinary Walk establishments are wheelchair and baby stroller friendly and accessible. However, the Delicious Drive is not wheelchair accessible.
